Cornish College is offering an exclusive scholarship 2025 for students


Summary

The Syvilla Fort Scholarship was established by Cornish College of the Arts to honor the legacy of Syvilla Fort, a trailblazing dancer and educator who broke barriers as the first person of color to enroll at Cornish in 1932. Dedicated to supporting continuing students of color, this scholarship reflects the college’s commitment to diversity, equity, and access in the arts. The award provides financial support to students who demonstrate academic excellence and financial need, ensuring that artists of color can continue their education and contribute their talents to the creative community.

Eligibilities.

To be eligible, students must:

  • Must be a returning (continuing) student at Cornish College of the Arts.

  • Must demonstrate financial need based on FAFSA.

  • Must self-identify as a student of color.

  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
